Dark ruby in color with a purplish rim.
Strong nose of blackberries, sweet plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, dried figs, wet leaves, raisins, licorice, spices, tobacco leaf, earth, herbs and peppercorn.
Full bodied with medium acidity, bold and spicy.
Dry and very fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, raisins, dried figs, plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, spices, tobacco leaf, chocolates, coffee and mocha.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a great Amarone. Nicely aged, big and tasty. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after 90 minutes of airtime. I did not decant it, but only let it open in the bottle.
This 12 year old from an excellent vintage is peaking now, and will continue to drink nicely in the next 5 years.
Delicious by itself or with food. I paired it with a delicious pizza with prosciutto and fresh arugula.
A blend of 70% Corvina, 20% Rondinella and 10% Croatina. Aged in French oak barrels for 30 months. 800 cases produced.

Sergio Zenato and his wife Carla began to produce quality wines from an indigenous varietal, Trebbiano di Lugana, and passed down through the generations. A blend of 80% Corvina, 10% Rondinella, 10% Oseleta and Croatina. Medium Ruby with aromas of dried berry fruits, sweet and smoky notes with pleasant herb spice. On the palate flavors of ripe currants and sweet blackberries with cacao, spice, oak and nutty tones. Fine tannins, long complex finish ending slightly creamy with cedar notes. Starting to drink well now, enjoy over next 4-5 years. — 2 days ago
Raisiny and grape-y nose offers tart and powdered candy notes, white mushroom, schist, light pepper and tea. Dry open of grape-y tartness, bing cherry and lavender petal. Mouth-coating with cranberry-blackberry and black currant, bitters and dates. Great priced ripasso.

Retailed for $36 but I got on close out for $24 which is where it should be priced: not as much density & minerality as other Turbiano I’ve had, but this was tasty: dark straw w/goldish hue, big nose of nectarine & white peach, very floral w/poached pear & stones, lanolin on palate. Acidity little spritzy as well as finish. Would like to see more balance & harmony - believe this has more time & should be consumed at cellar temp. — a day ago
Color is quite youthful. Nose has Graham cracker, tilled soil, dried cherry and cherry ooze. Big whack of (non-jammy) fruit initially, but quickly framed by soft tannins, and a nice but subtle minerally, savory component comes in. Very nicely balanced, with nice acids. Nicely concentrated too. Will go great with my pasta tonight. — a day ago
After pressing dried grapes from making Amarone, Valpolicella wine is passed over the still warm skins of Amarone for 2nd alcoholic fermentation, increasing the alcoholic content, aromas and color. Blend of 85% Corvina, 10% Rondinella, 5% Oseleta. Deep Ruby with aromas of sweet dried berry fruits and pepper spice. On the palate ripe blackberry, currants and sweet cherry with complex spice. Well balanced with acidity and alcohol, full-body with soft tannins on long finish. Nice value. — 19 days ago
