I was surprised how much I like this bottle. The immediate impression was similar to my first bottle of Clio: concentrated, powerful, and intense. Blueberry jam, cassis, dark spices, dark chocolate, and a lovely violet scent. Rich and dense palate but without being heavy. A bit of meatiness too. The acidity was enough to hold back the heat at the end. — 6 years ago

I've posted about this wine before but the '14 is so good and punches WAY above its sub $40 price point. This predominantly Grenache blend with some Mourvèdre, Syrah and a dash of PV is delicious. Blackberry dominates to me with peppery secondary notes coming into play. This is medium to full bodied and slightly dense. Pop and pour - this and Clio are becoming my go to everyday house reds. High caliber, super reasonable for what you get. @TheSkip - this is one for you to try if you haven't. — 10 years ago

I was told this bottle is scarcely available as only about 1,000 cases produced each vintage and most of them stay in Spain.
Rich and ultra smooth, this somewhat reminds me of Clio. Coconut and Creme de Cassis overwhelmed initially but eventually settled down. Unapologetically hedonistic, it’s nevertheless delicious and possesses great substance. Would love to try one with some bottle age, but the first vintage release was 2014.

A friend brought over a Tablas Creek Grenache, and I thought it would be interesting to open this bottle for comparison.

The nose is of saturated ripe plum, dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and fresh herb. The palate is rich but not thick, plush but not showy, with fine balance between the round acidity and fresh herbs and the savory lightly extracted dark fruit. Powdery tannins.

It seems to be more refined that the Clio (from the same winemaker) at this young stage. Same deliciousness. — 6 years ago
