Nose has lemon slice, under-ripe yellow apple, moist chalk, wet salt and fresh brioche.
Palate has chalky, over-ripe yellow apple, sea spray, risen dough, solid acidity but not obtuse.
Pre-birthday dinner for our dear COVID bubble friend; we've only allowed one of our close friends into the house for almost the past year, tonight we're celebrating that he's one year older than me. 😉 — 24 days ago
Pop and pour. It was a rough day, so perhaps take this note with a grain of salt, but...my wife says this is the best champagne we've had in recent memory, and I would describe this as Chevalier Montrachet with bubbles. On the nose: rich creamy vanilla lemon chiffon, soft honey, hazelnut, perfectly balanced richness and fruit. On the palate: soft mousse, fantastic acidity and richness, lemon, grilled nuts, fantastic density, and a soft, dark, finish. Wow, absolutely spectacular. — 4 days ago
Single vineyard "Les Belles Voyes" in the famous Grand Cru hillside of Oger. Pale lemon with fine creamy mousse and tiny rapid bubble flow, long lees aging. aromas stone fruits and blossom, bread dough and citrus. On the palate flavors of golden apple, peach, lemon citrus and honeysuckle with biscuit toast and nutty notes. Long finish, full-body ending with biscuit, mineral and citrus character. Outstanding! — 14 days ago
NV, but back label had the date 04/04/08 and it’s a beautiful bottle of champagne. Yellow color hints at the intense yellow fruit—mellow, yellow peach and nectarine, gentle but persistent, layered soft delicious fruit. Really a delicious bottle that rewarded cellaring, as do many NVs. — 2 days ago
