Medium ruby, the 2018 Fèlsina Chianti Classico Riserva Berandenga needs time to open up in the glass, revealing restrained aromas of red and black cherry, red plum, dried herbs, discrete wood and earth. The palate is medium bodied and nicely balanced by fresh acidity, decent fruit concentration and ripe, polished tannins. A few more years in bottle will probably do the trick. Drink from 2026 until 2040. — 2 days ago
Okay, my hands are aloft. I have to admit, I’ve no idea how a basic Chianti - retailing around £13 with a production close to half a million bottles annually - can be this good. Heck, good doesn’t do it justice: it’s sensational. This 2016 San Felice didn’t need much time in the decanter to unfurl its alluring aromas of fresh blackberry, cranberry, dried cherry, vanilla, chocolate, cinnamon and clove; truly a joy to sniff.
The palate of forthcoming, with a supple mouthfeel offering flavours of ripe but very fresh black and red fruits, clove - again - along with tangy acidity and an iron core. The finish lasts for some time, and I find it a wine I struggle to put down.
This is a fantastic wine and, at least in 2016, an absolute must buy for lovers of Chianti. — 18 days ago
Served the Sorbo with the Vinloq System
👃Red + dark fruit with spicy oak notes, tobacco & stewed fruit
👅 Drinking well. Powdery dark chocolate & blueberries. The tannins are soft
The remaining wine was "Slow Decanted" in
👃👅 Similar notes to day 1. The round profile & silky texture make this very enjoyable. Soft tannins & balancing acidity are also included. Cherry, blueberry, chocolate & tobacco + spice & lightly stewed fruit. So easy to drink👍
I don’t see any reason to wait longer on this 07. The tannins are primetime and there is plenty of complexity and interesting flavors right now. Drink away! 🍷🍷 — 11 days ago
Really nice - smooth and easy 2019 — 4 days ago
This Chianti has the most beautiful garnet red color that shimmers in the light. The bouquet reveals a variety of fragrances including cherry, raspberry, chocolate, pepper and shale. Rich and solid tannins, somewhat dry and yet well-balanced. Flavors of cherry, rosemary, white pine and French oak. A smooth medium finish that lingers just so! — 18 days ago
Dark, a bit brooding, with pure dark cherry, a bit of tomato leaf, dried herbs, shrub, a hint of undergrowth. Great freshness.
Amazing flow on the palate. Great purity of fruit, the tannins juicy & beautifully polished, nice energy & balance.
Depth, character, nice complexity yet so drinkable. Love the dark cherry paired with savoury roast, herby hints.
A truly lovely wine! — 25 days ago
