Le Tertre du Bosquet Sauternes White Bordeaux Blend 2019

Very nice Sauternes with delightful balance of fruit, flowers, sweetness and unctuousness, plus sufficient acids to bring it all together. Quite a delicious sipper. This was the very last bottle of Sauternes I could find at my local BevMo in Santa Monica, and it was just a half bottle at that. I should really go back to the Wine House or Wally’s for my wine purchases but this tells me how under appreciated Sauternes is in the U.S. A pity.
I enjoyed the 2019 vintage with homemade chicken liver pâté on toasted brioche.

Château Roc de Cambes

Côtes de Bourg Red Bordeaux Blend 2011

Alex Lallos

There is a whole lot to like here. Expensive for cotes de bourg but tertre roteboeuf pedigree. At or around it’s peak now with some nice soil and secondary aspects. Still shows the dark red fruits as well. This could be nothing other than Bordeaux. Really nice stuff all around — a month ago

Domaine du Tertre

Calvados 1997

On the dry side for a Calvados of this age, this is evocative of a hyperconcentrated Norman cider, with everything from baking spice and apple pie to the barnyard funk of an Etienne DuPont. Apple and sour horse pussy. 👀 A cerebral one. — a year ago

Le Tertre Du Lys D'Or

Cuvée d'Exception Sauternes Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend 2018

Nice, sweet, but not overly so, floral notes, apricot aftertaste. Paired nicely with this year’s limited batch of Rogue River Blue Cheese. — 6 months ago

Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 2008

2008 vintage. Bernaleau family (also owners of Haut-Médoc Château de Braude and Moulis Château Galland). Situated in Arsac between Château du Tertre and Château d'Arsac. Mostly Cabernet Sauvignon (around 70%) with Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc. Great effort in a difficult vintage. Dark red with orangy rim. Cassis, flowers and cedar wood. Textbook elegant Margaux. Drinking beautifully without the harsh tannin that characterises many 2008s. Lovely and nice value. — a year ago
