Nose is wild and funky. Verset like immediately comes to mind. It’s wild and funky but also has class, deep Syrah character and refinement. Some VA, some funk, some elegance, leather, berry fruit, some brett, it is all there and coming out to play but somehow it works. Way better than the ghastly 12’s. Palate is juicy and rustic, with nice juiciness and purity. Definitely get a Sicilian vibe from this. Tinny but in a good way. Wild, rustic and pure. Juicy with good fruit and lovely tannins. Rustic, charming and juicy. Long. No finesse but it makes up for it in charm. Very good.
BIG improvement on day 2. Gorgeous aroma. Meaty, floral and gamey. Palate is silky and sweet. 8.9 to 9.1. Juicy and terrific florals. Sappy. — 5 days ago
1 hour decant(chunky and cloudy sediment). A regal inky dark ruby red color. On the nose: Subtle notes of jammy blackberry, floral, graphite, and cedar. Taste: Elegant, smooth, lush full body wine with jammy blackberry, dark cherry, spice, currants, leather and a chocolate espresso long dry finish. Little tannic bite at the end demanding a few more years to fully come together. Still, really enjoying this Saturday night! Cheers! — 6 days ago
From terrific wine maker Maggie Harrison, a Rosé like no other. It drinks almost like a natural red Burgundy. It reminded me of Prieure Roch Le Cloud or Sylvain Pataille Marsannay. Good depth to it and nicely textured showing a cool minerality, balanced acidity, cherry bubblegum, mandarin orange and a touch of damp earth and Asian spice. I had it left out and off of ice and treated it like a red. Seemed to be the right move as it becomes more expressive the less cold it is. Super unique wine and happy to have finally tried it! Great stuff. — 5 days ago
