This was so lush and delicious. We are going to try and stop and buy a few more bottles on our way home. — a month ago

Bursting blackberries/plum and subtle black currant, hints of coffee and cocoa and black pepper, prominent but smooth tannins and silky mouthfeel. One of my favorite Trader Joe’s finds. — 13 days ago
Feral smelling but in the reductive way that Syrah can so easily become...if that makes sense. This characteristic softens with air and finds a groove after about 30min. Smells like a deli case with blue and black fruits and purple flowers. On the palate, powerful blue fruits herbs and spices. Big in the structure department too. There’s a whole lot to like here. I would love to revisit this in 10 years. — a month ago
Deep, dark and delicious. The nose opens with a whiff of smoke, which leads to aromas of dried cherry, cedar and pipe tobacco. The palate shows a nice mix of fruit and savory - the cherry flavor finds a black raspberry partner. Firm tannins and bright acidity make it dance on the tongue.

I have to be completely honest. This producer was not even on my radar. I tasted it at Elyse while tasting Montagu. We met the Winemaker-Kimberly Hatcher. In addition to being a Winemaker, she is a hero as a full time Firefighter in the Napa Valley. She also sports one hell of a ripped physique. Not sure where she finds the time.
I normally have an aversion to Santa Rita Hills Pinot as they are normally too extracted for me. Not the case here. It runs just short of that marker.
The 2018 Morgado drinks surprisingly well this young. The mouthfeel is sexy, rich, lush & full. The fruits are nicely ripened & just a touch candied; black plum, blackberries, dark cherries, raspberries mulberries & blueberries. Softly layered baking spices-cinnamon, nutmeg, clove & vanillin. Soft savory grilled meats, understated tobacco & soft leather, dark rich soils, black licorice, mixed berry cola, crushed rock powder, limestone/sandstone, soft wood use, black fruit tea with purple, dark, red & blue florals set in lavender. The round acidity is near perfect. The finish is as glorious as the start...rich, elegant, well knitted & balanced fruit and earth & persists minutes.
One of the nice surprises on our Napa experience. — a month ago
Girlfriend picked this French Pinot Noir (one of my favorite styles) and found this vintage behind the 2019's on the shelf. Color is deep purplish black, nose has dark fruits, leather/tobacco, and a hint of funk, moderately high tannins and a decent acidity to balance. Full bodied, this wine delivers flavors of prunes, dark berries, leather, and mulling spice. I would drink this wine again and even let it age. — 2 months ago
