While I have great respect and appreciation for wines like these I simply don’t have the palate for them.
Iodine, beef blood, smoky BBQ. I’m sure this is lights out with a dry aged ribeye but a 2oz. pour is enough for me. Very reminiscent of the 1969 Colares I had a few months back. Properly stored. — 2 months ago
Blend of 80% Baga and 20% Touriga National. Deep red color with garnet highlights. Aromas of concentrated red fruits. Bright red berries and plums on the pallet as well with hints of tobacco, cocoa and dried herbs. Just a touch of oak on the medium-plus finish. Silky tannins and well balanced. Medium-minus body and quite fresh tasting. — 7 months ago

NV. Had a wonderful five course dinner with excellent beverage pairings next door at Tail Up Goat and then stopped at Le Mont Royal to have something while thinking about calling a ride home. We were reminiscing with the waiter at the restaurant about a Pato anfora red wine we had there pre-covid, so when I saw this wine on the bar list, I knew I was ordering it. Cool, tart, and a little spritzy. Perfect after dessert. — 3 months ago

The bottle I tried a year ago must have been slightly off, because this time it’s delicious. More fruit-forward than I remembered. Soft cherry with delightful, delicate length. Nicely aged after a decade, not sour at all. Wine tasting is influenced by so many factors - almost never consistent for me. — 2 days ago
