— 2 months ago

Bairrada Baga 2013

A smoother version of Baga, & methinks this particular bottle is sliding past it’s drinking peak. Fine grained, red fruits, violets on nose. Solidly good if not a bit meh. — 3 months ago

Vinhas Velhas Baga 2016

N: Roses, tar, eucalyptus, mint, pepper, Red flowers and fruits.
P:Bracing acidity, prickly, med-light body,( are we sure this isn’t Nebbiolo?)
Cherries, Very much like a cross between Nebbiolo, Pinot Noir, and Sangiovese. I think I’ve said that before.
Black raspberry fruit, fine tannins, a med finish.!
As it sits in the glass, tobacco rears it’s head. The body fleshes out a bit. Acidity recedes.

Tonel 10 Baga 2018

a red custom-built for salty smoked salmon (or bacalao!), almost genetically so, it’s a perfect fit. a saline, astringent, difficultly bitter and very polarizing sipper becomes plush, aromatic, fruit driven and prolifically nuanced with the pairing....blood iron, raspberry, about-to-be ripe strawberry, bush-herbs, tart cranberry, and back to waves of salt and iodine on the finish. as if the ocean rolled over the vines and left a dusting of salt and dried blood, and the color expresses it beautifully - wtf! — 2 months ago

Nerd Duck Fernão Pires - Baga Blend

Pale ruby; medium intensity aromas of cranberry, red apple skin, juicy red cherry, mineral, subtle cider funk; dry, medium plus acid, medium plus drying tannins, low alcohol, medium body, medium plus intensity flavors consistent with aromas; definitely natural, complex as interesting — a month ago

Is this a tribute bottle to Howard the Ducks possibly smarter cousin?

Baga Clássico Red

Chocolatey, light on the tannins but still holds its own with a meal. So lovely! — 2 months ago

Quinta de Foz de Arouce

Vinho Regional Beiras Red Blend 2013

Another vintage featuring the unusual Baga grape (with some Touriga National blended in). Dark color but only medium bodied. Fresh acidity brings forth a bright red and black fruit pallet. Hints of chocolate and dried herbs on the silky finish. Really nice Portuguese red. — 2 months ago

Nossa Calcario Bairrada Baga 2016

This is cool stuff. Very mineral as the name says, pure, medium bodied, balanced, very very elegant. Requires time in the cellar. Top notch portuguese. — 4 months ago
