Brut 1er Cru Rosé Champagne Blend

A nose of green strawberry with some lemon/lime backdrop. Palette is most accessible when the wine is a little warmer, it’s right and focused, with good green energy and depth. The wine is at first glance, light and smile, but with time and focused tasting, it reveals a wine well crafted with a human touch and unique quality. — 8 months ago

Amarone della Valpolicella Corvina Blend 1999

This wine still has life after 22 years. The bold dried red fruit and acidity remain while the tannins have dissipated almost entirely. — 3 months ago

Brut 1er Cru Champagne Blend

Drinking this with beef Tatar. Wonderful pairing. The sourdough and walnut aromas compliment the raw beef on toasted English muffins very well. The flavour is something to behold, definitely a Champagne blend to drink pure, not for cocktails. — 6 months ago

Alain Graillot

Crozes-Hermitage Syrah 2016

This could be my favorite young vintage of Graillot. The freshness and balance this has is awesome, almost going as far to say there’s tension in what is normally an area that produces lipsmacking Syrah with so much jovial personality. This has a serious side. So much just ripe blackberry, currant, and marion berry fruit, lavender, crack black and pink peppercorn, salt cured olive, iron, animal, licorice, spruce and that classic Graillot tar note. The mid palate and finish wrap the tongue with stony mineraity, the depth too is awesome. The acid and “focus” almost make it an outlier for the house style, but there’s so much class to it. This has dimension and posture, I’m excited to watch it evolve. — a year ago
