A little licorice-y on its own but great with the lasagna soup I made — 8 months ago

Made from an Interesting varietal (Prie’ Blanc). Light golden color. Nose is rich with white flowers, hay, wet stones and an appealing “funky” quality. Pallet is rich and tangy. Flavors of white peach, apple, quince and fresh herbs. Nice saline note as well. That pleasant funk was present on the finish. A bit of an oily texture. Quite delicious! Though we enjoyed many Valle d’Aosta wines at this event, this was a wine we kept talking about. Thank you for offering this one, Ron B! — 5 months ago
The 2021 Dogliani Papà Celso is packed with the essence of blueberry jam, incense, licorice, tobacco, chocolate and scorched earth. Inky and opulent to the core, the 2021 is again one of the most heady, exotic wines in Dogliani, a true original. Give the potent tannins a year or two to soften. $25.00 (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, January 2023) — 9 months ago

More dark fruited than tonight’s other Dolcetto, ripe, more full-bodied, nice balance, long finish, very nice Dolcetto! — 2 months ago
