aged in concrete 50 years. 95ish % grenache. crunchy snappy fresh still, some earthy dried red fruit tertiary notes. barely fading at edges. but this makes sense- it was kept in glass line cement.

One of those bottles where curiosity is simply overwhelming. Opened, Audouzed 6 hours and served blind to a small gathering of friends from Tasting Group. In the glass, the wine appears a bright ruby color with a translucent core; no visual signs of age. On the nose, the wine is fresh, bursting with ripe red and dark bramble fruit, garrigue, the water from reconstituting dried porcini mushrooms, some dry earth, and purple flowers. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. There’s a lovely soft texture about this. The brambly fruits are confirmed with licorice, dusty earth, and a savory quality that was rather compelling. The group felt this had southern Rhone vibes, some calling Chateauneuf Du Pape, but vintages were more recent with many calling 2014 with the Burgundian sensibilities showing through. Everyone was shocked at that this was nearly 50 years young. Truthfully, the way in which this wine was aged has granted it an unusually long life

What an interesting wine, aged in concrete for 50 years, the nose was full of leather and spice, the acidity was remarkable, loved the weight and finish of the wine. I presented as a much younger wine. Thanks Jeff for opening this unique bottle.

Terrific raisin, leather, game, secondary flavors. A bit of fruit left. Tasty. 95% grenache, $119.

Opened this on a birthday for one born in '72. Still delivering that velvet glove that makes me a CdP fangirl.

Xavier Vignon thru his relationships in the region found this parcel of wine from a single domaine cellared in a concrete tank for almost 50 years...impressed with the quality he bottled it.

1 hour decant(little cloudy sediment). A remarkable medium tawny crimson red color. On the nose: Currants, pine, red plum, spice, floral, cinnamon. Taste: A smooth, creamy, medium body wine with leather, red currants, pepper, orange peel, and a dried strawberry minerally finish. What a treat to drink!

Just phenomenal and a fun wine to try that was basically forgotten about for decades and recently bottled. I’ve drank 20 year old bottles that were more oxidized. Cherries, tea, tobacco, loamy soil, and a melange of spices. Beautiful maroon color and dancing nose. Love it!

This was exceptionally fun to drink. About what you’d expect for an older GSM except more fruit forward given the late bottling. Glad I have another bottle, wish I had more! Drank on Xmas ‘21. It was a little bit herbal. As well.

Crazy fun. Forgotten wine that has been recently bottled. Nose complex, but fades a bit on the palate.
