World's End
If Six Was Nine Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Flamboyant nose of sweet cherries, kirsch and a lovely note of oak.
On the palette, the first thing that registers is the heavy mouthfeel and a plush texture. Sweetness persists with sandalwood and ripe blackberries. However, the finish on the back of the palette is astringent. This ruins what would have otherwise been an outstanding example. Alas, RP was again economical with the truth, rating this at 92 - 94. He really should behave himself.

Somewhat brooding I not heavy. Could develop nicely with time.

Saddle leather, pruney fruit, lovely spicy component. Perhaps a little advanced, but great to drink now.

Little known fact; after deciding his work in Bordeaux wasn't up to par, wine maker Jonathan Maltus decided to move to Napa in 2008 to open World's End. And to its success has come some good wines. This 2013 was nice but young. Red fruits like flood lights roll in with tannins blasting like cylinders of muscle car. This is a classic Napa can flexing some new muscle. Save this one for now and enjoy it later
