Big cab. Ripe cherry sucker punch followed by lemon peel and pepper. This can add some dense flavor to any meal. Opens well after only 30 mins. A bit young for a cab but is already setting a benchmark for later. — 9 years ago
Back on the wine program. Tonight is a special from the people at Stag's leap, my favorite Napa producer. The Artemis is a textbook example of good harvest, although 2012 was great for North American producers. This wine medium bodied and nicely complex. Fresh plum, black cherry and oak scents with mild tannins that subdue with time. 90 minute decant and you've got a real winner. — 9 years ago
Solid wine. Having this with some BBQ and good company. I'll be adding this to my collection — 8 years ago
Brought out the big guns for Saturday night. Solid for a 2012. Cos is my favorite producer out of Bordeaux. Wild blueberry and cinnamon on the nose at the cork pull. Fresh feel with a medium bodied finish. Drinks nicely now. — 8 years ago
Nice flavor from this 100% Shiraz. Deep Rudy color, mild tannin and beautiful red fruits and dried currants. I always love the variety that Penfolds brings to the table. Open up 2.5 hours before. — 9 years ago
For a 2014 this surprised me. Really nice light tannins with beautiful red fruits and mild tartness. After a quick decant this opens nicely and will age quite well. — 9 years ago
Little known fact; after deciding his work in Bordeaux wasn't up to par, wine maker Jonathan Maltus decided to move to Napa in 2008 to open World's End. And to its success has come some good wines. This 2013 was nice but young. Red fruits like flood lights roll in with tannins blasting like cylinders of muscle car. This is a classic Napa can flexing some new muscle. Save this one for now and enjoy it later — 8 years ago
A tough wine to find, haven't had something from Ormes since their 2009 release. A young cab that needs some time alone. A little green with some fresh fig and plums on the nose. The palate is medium bodied with some room for improvement. Overall something to consider — 9 years ago
Cool and calm. This Amarone is clean and young. Needs a decant before drinking but has good potential — 9 years ago

Smooth, round and supple. A viticultural spectacle to be admired for years to come. A hint of age would better this wine. A light ruby hue is contrast to its oaky and earthy character. Slight chocolate and oak bring the its personality out. I'm going to remember this wine for a long time — 8 years ago
