Pintas Character Douro Red Blend

Opaque purple in color, Welch's grape juice, cedar, and anise on the nose. Palate is evolved and settled with muddled blue and blackberry. Definitely nods to Porto with a tawny hint. A bit hot on the alcohol (guessing 14.8 ABV). Wine is dry, medium minus acidity. Full bodied. A bit of bitterness keeps this from presenting a rounded mouth feel. Tannins non existent at this point. Good.

An easy drinking dry Douro red. Velvety plum, blueberry compote, pressed violets. The aromas share so much in common with a young Ruby Port, despite their different paths. #sommcon

Riper and more fruit driven than the Pintas bottling, with more suppleness to the structure so this drinks sooner. Classic notes of blueberry and red berries.

2010 vintage. Beautiful deep purple hue. Mineral aromas with soft plum and raspberry fruit on the palate. Medium to long finish. Perfect wine to accompany my Friday night study session of Portuguese wines...

Blueberries still strike me in this wine. It's added more body and the tannins are starting to turn finer. Plum and mocha notes complicate the palate and nose. Decant 30-60 minutes.
