Winderlea Vineyard and Winery
Shea Vineyard Pinot Noir
Picked on the early side. Bright, juicy, electric. Very long and elegant. Beauty!

Mar 6th, 2013Consumed to early. Left a pour in a glass for several hours and it opened up. Cherry, spice, roses. Wife likes and that’s what matters. Need more to lay down.

Jan 4th, 2020Good red fruit jumping out of the glass with some coffee, eucalyptus touches. The palate is good, silky, flavorful but lacks depth and finish.

Jul 28th, 2019Burnt ruby coloration. On the nose, cherry, red berries, raspberries, florals, vanilla and leather. On the palate, cassis, spices, tobacco with strong tannins and acidity.

Dec 29th, 2018I am not sure if this bottle is flawed or if I am tonight (my love for Winderlea is leaving me to keep this open). Very fruity on the initial impression and nose then, as it evolved, became tart and green (stems and branches). This just made me feel the fruit was possibly underripe when harvested. I was longing for balance—the tannins, acidity, and alcohol forcefully push through then leave you longing for more structure to support their efforts. Not undrinkable or unenjoyable by any means, just not their best showing.
