Grassl Cru vs. Zenology Burg. The Grassl makes the wine appear younger because of the smaller bowl, more Burgundian on the nose and slightly bitter on the finish. The Zenology makes the wine look older, sweeter on the nose and the palate. The Zenology is a sexier curvaceous glass but for this particular wine on this particular night, the edge goes to the Grassl. BTW, this 15 year old Cali Pinot is drinking amazing. This is not burgundy but pretty, very dam delicious. If you have this wine, drink up but know that the best is right now so if you already drank your last glass you missed the apogee.

Dec 8th, 2020Man is this good and so much more relaxed and laid back than many Cali Pinot's. Savory, meaty, spicey with the alcohol in check. Reliable cola and strawberry notes reminding me that this is RRV. This is a food wine and would pair so well with salmon. This is just past peak so smoke 'em if you got 'em. A shout out to WS for crafting such a fun and fine wine.
