Williams Selyem
Forchini Vineyard Zinfandel
En magnum, very tasty, has really mellowed with age.

Feb 1st, 2022Cork already falling apart, wine is still intact. Very nicely rounded wine, was surprised that it didn't have a lot of sediment. Raisins and berries on the nose, a bit of pomegranate on the palate. Great by itself, wonderful with gourmet sausage.

Sep 16th, 2018The most interesting zinfandel I think I've had to date. This wine is rather transparent, light. Aged raspberry profile with some herb and lychee. This wine is quite smooth on the front. Aged pomegranate. The middle of this wine is a little more herbal and even a bit raucous. The finish gains some nice sharp acidity and seems to have a more youthful finish. Overall, quite nice. Not probably the "classic" expression of Zin, but definitely a very interesting interpretation of zin. Definitely not over the hill, so the 2009-2013 CT drinking window is quite inaccurate. I wouldn't trust this wine in 10 years to give much, so it's time to start drinking this one in the next 5 years.
