Yesterday late afternoon with my wife while visiting my son and his wife in Arkansas we had the pleasure of opening the 2017 Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, New Zealand.

On the nose there was beautiful aromatics of grapefruit, guava, lime, grass, orange peel, white flowers and minerality.

On the palate the nose was confirmed with notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lime, orange peel, herbaceous notes and minerality.

The wine is well balanced, medium bodied with high acidity and a nice effervescence quality that leads right into a long fresh, clean crisp finish. A very nice expression of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. This wine was enjoyed by all and everyone expressed their full enjoyment. Have a great week this week and please be safe. Nostrovia! 🥂🥂🥂🥂

A less vibrant version of a varietal I usually don't love. So it's lacklustre to me. Dull stone fruit. A bit tart, even.

Very close to the ‘15 and ‘16 vintages. Almost as good.
