Juicy-fruited, this is unabashedly lime- and peach-forward, with floral and mineral accents playing a secondary role. Acidity is refreshing but not life-ruining. Mouthfeel is pleasantly rounded, belying its moderate abv (11.5%) and crisp, dry finish. Not complex, but pure pleasure, balanced and composed; you’d have to be some kind of dipshit not to love this wine.

Lime zest, over ripe lime, limestone, sour finish in a good.

Pineapple, green papaya, white flowers and almost chalky minerality. Smells tender and lifted...followed by a 100-watt jolt to the palate. Beyond tense, and still the planet’s gold standard for affordable Riesling Trocken.

Perhaps still burdened by it’s youth as it’s not overly complex. Admirable it’s it’s purity and precision, but length also falls a bit short.

A good quality wine, with a nice balance between the sharp acidity that is carried by the primary fruit character. Minor complexity with a mineral background is providing a serious kick.

Crunchy, crunchy minerals. Ripe lime and lemongrass. Lemon balm. Dry extract, m+ to high acid. Excellent length. And to think this is his entry level wine. (!)

Coming off the more-is-more 2015 vintage this might be disappointing. It's not. It's as it ever is - racy, deeply mineral, full of citrus and saline and electric energy. Yes, dialed back to 9.5 and still perfectly balanced and alive. Great value.

Ascetic, elegant, sharp. Lots of lemon, citrus, pear, stone. Salt. Serious complexity.
