Vintage 2020 | First day of spring. Intanticide perhaps, but jolly good now. Palle yellow. Smell with pear and Guadeloupe melon. Schist. Powerfull balanced taste with high bitters and blood orange zeste. Lovely wine, says the wife. Happy wife, happy life! Paired with chicocery with ham and vacherin mont d’or cheese from the oven and topped with spring onion and truffle. Find it and put some bottles in your cellar.

This needs a solid decant to wake up. Petrol, honeycomb, lime peel, salt, bruised peach, crushed rocks, spices. Zippy but seems to be losing some freshness. Chalking that up to its age and assuming it will come around at the 10+ year mark. Absolutely sang with Japanese food though and was a joy to watch evolve over dinner.

Definitely marked by the softer acid vintage, in addition to the acid dampening effects of botrytis. Really intense, broad texture with a lot of appealing bitterness. Great blend of savory and fruity, with lots of filigree and shades of flavor hovering around the salted stone fruit spectrum. A very particular but generous and compelling expression of dry Riesling.
