Vineyard near the in-laws, have had the wines and enjoyed, plus #carmenere so I grabbed it...Turns out you can get serious amarone style from #chile for under $15. After one explosive sip, I had to read the back label.
would not have pegged as Carmenere, but the magnified rich plum and spice makes sense once you understand the intended style. Gets the A for effort and extra points for execution.
May need to get more and lay it on down for observation.

Soft and supple tannins. Plum, coffee and milk chocolate enrobe the palate. Beautiful red wine for sipping throughout the night.
