Vineyard near the in-laws, have had the wines and enjoyed, plus #carmenere so I grabbed it...Turns out you can get serious amarone style from #chile for under $15. After one explosive sip, I had to read the back label.
would not have pegged as Carmenere, but the magnified rich plum and spice makes sense once you understand the intended style. Gets the A for effort and extra points for execution.
May need to get more and lay it on down for observation.

Deep ruby in color; bell peppers, black plums, and paprika on the nose; medium acidity; medium tannins; tastes like raspberry sauce, milk chocolate, and a hint of green peppercorns with a long finish. Nellie doesn't Iike it. I love it. A very unique flavor.

Fantastic. Notes of red berries, vanilla, and dark chocolate. Very smooth and full bodied. Paired very well with rack of lamb.

Small bottle. First time trying this and I quite liked it. It kept well even after it was open a few days. Solid Carmenere taste.
