Formerly a vintage wine consultant, I like to try pretty much anything.
Gave this guy about 3 hours to breath from the bottle before I tried it. Loads of crushed violet on the nose. The pallet was lush and full of ripe plum notes. The acidity was quite low with a hint of tannin on the finish. A good wine for just sitting at the computer all day. A great red for under $20CAD. — 9 years ago
Woodsy, dark, rich and full of fruit. Tannins were quite ripe and well integrated. — 9 years ago
Juicy, medium bodied, light tannin and loaded with fruit. This guy was a deep purple hue and a tiny touch on the sweet side. A beautiful sipper for movie night. — 8 years ago
A touch less sweet than Jacobs Creek or the Italian variety. This is a very pretty wine with loads of white flowers and other floral notes. Great outside wine! — 9 years ago
A nice balance of toasty oak and tropical fruit. The nose is toasted vanilla bean, guava and melon. The palate is fat and round, a nice dash of acidity to round out the vanilla, cream and peaches. — 9 years ago
Lots of cedar on the nose, a little tight right now. The tannins are well integrated and fine. The back palate shows off some leather and red fruits. — 9 years ago
Herbaceous on the nose with a touch of lingering plum. At this point it's turning to a lovely maroon in colour. The tannins are very well integrated with mild acidity. The fruit showcases better on the palate. A glorious wine for aged cheese and prosciutto. — 9 years ago
Carmenere still ranks as one of my favorite grapes. The single vineyard from Falernia is amazing for the price. I picked up this bottle for $30CAD and it is like drinking chocolate covered coffee beans, roasted por and savory spice all wrapped in a nice coat of silky and smooth tannins. — 9 years ago
An interesting blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot made into a dessert style. It comes off as quite light for 17.5% ABV. Nice and rosy red in colour, tastes like dried cranberries with a sip of heat on the finish. — 9 years ago
Jeramy Torrance
Deep dark red with touches of purple on the edge. Typical Malbec nose, loads of black pepper on the palate with a touch of plum and a nice tannic punch. — 8 years ago
