Decanted about an hour prior to service; enjoyed over the course of a couple hours. The 2006 Rattlesnake Ridge pours a deep ruby/purple with an opaque core and some rim variation. Medium+ viscosity with significant staining of the tears and signs of sediment. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of tart, ripe, and some desiccated, mostly black fruits. Black cherry, wild black brambles, black plums and some pruning, figs, black pepper, smoked meat, leather and hoisin. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose although the profile is fresher. The finish is long and reminded me of purple Sweet Tarts with crazy minerals. Balanced. This is showing so well right now and has a long life yet ahead. Drink now with a long decant and enjoy through 2036 easy.

The 11 vintage is fantastic now! Lots of powdery concrete, white pepper, blue fruit and cinnamon.

@Delectable Wine Just FYI you have a bug in your “where are you” application. Location shows up with some weird suggestions.

14.8% ABV.
Great wine!
True to variety this is brimming with juicy black fruits.
Dark as midnight in the glass.
Nicely concentrated but with noticeable tannins on the palate, perhaps showing a tiny bitterness and (for my taste) lacking a bit of overall stuffing.
While I normally opt to age most of my PS I think this is one to enjoy now or over the next few years for the immediate juiciness.
And I will of course save a bottle for 20 years down the line....

Such a nice evolution after a full decade of bottle age. Really Opened up after about an hour decant. Sweet chocolate, dried plums, mocha, and cloves. Extremely ripe and lush tannins. Mountain Petite Sirah at its finest.

14.8% alc.

As expected super juicy and stuffed with red/blue fruits.
Slightly less dense/chewy on the palate than I would have thought which I think bodes well for this also tasting fantastic in 2-3 decades.

Don't think that this benefitted from the age. Still drinking well, but fruit starting to fade and losing complexity.
