While it requires further bottle development, its pedigree is shining. A more traditional presentation which displays olives, spice box and overripe plums. Moderate tannins are tucked in with soft acidity. You’re tasting the terroir and wine making skills here. No “construction” required. Excellent.

Jun 15th, 2023At the Downs Club Super Tuscan dinner last Friday. 2016 seems to have been a good vintage everywhere in Italy. This is a Cabernet predominant blend with Merlot and a little Sangiovese. No detailed notes. Fine powdery persistent tannins. Medium bodied.

Mar 19th, 2021So bloody precise after a brief decant. Nose of camphor and pencil lead. Dark blackberry fruit. Soft, resolved but so precise in its tones. If Elvis Costello was singing this wine it would be Alison. Drink now.

Medium to deep garnet red with a touch of bricking on the edges. Stinky and smoky on the nose. Heavy tannins (7.5/10) and full bodied. Rich palate with smoked berries, spicy, spices, iron and earthy. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2034.

This is one hell of a wine. I would put it against top Bordeaux any day. Probabally should've let this age another 5-10 years but it was so incredibly good out of the gate. What a way to spend Christmas Eve with family. red fruits, tar and ocean air on the nose. Broad shouldered but very pretty at the same time. This is one of the best wines in Italy these days

Beautiful, expansive mid palette, showing rich, dark fruits. My favorite wine (for the price) from this producer.
