A fine cooler region Shiraz with a fruitier palate than most of their lineup. Lots of spicy black pepper. Still young and needs aging.

2006 The Gask: smart wine. Looked very northern Rhone. Again lacked that bit of verve to make it classic and really good. Very enjoyable.

Rich, classic Barossa Shiraz. Jammy with a spicy dry edge. Cedar drenched strawberries comes to mind. Perhaps doesn’t sound appetizing but it provided a nice lingering flavor in the finish.

Excellent shiraz from Torbreck, we got this at the winery during an awesome wine trip down under in December 2016. Doesn’t have the depth and complexity of their higher-end stuff, but is drinking really well right now. Great notes of blueberries, blackberries, along with hints of dark chocolate. Balanced, with a nice finish. Not obvious that this is going to improve a lot, so probably worth drinking sooner rather than later.

Drinking the 2008 in 2016. Stacks of blackcurrant, plum and black cherry. Some tobacco and dark chocolate notes creeping courtesy of its 8 years. Typically Torbreck and sitting in a very nice spot right now.
