After 1,300 wines on Delectable I finally get to try my first wine from Greece! The Xinomavro grape reminds me of Nebbiolo and similar medium bodied wines. Low alc, high acidity. Very good and have high expectations for dinner pairing.

This is such a pretty wine. Light bodied and floral, I get violets and dried flowers in the glass. Paid $45 for the bottle at a restaurant but see it retails for around $11. Amazing value.

The label makeover is great, and the wine itself has never been better. More freshness and lift than the 2015, with the same sour cherry, pomegranate and tomato profile. Nebbiolo fans will love it at this price.

I find this wine so fun, exciting, and yet balanced. It has that natural funk and floralness to it, dried cranberries, and ripe strawberries. It has a bit of everything, without being muddy. I also love the colour for some reason. 18$ in Quebec and well worth it!

Really nice. Light like nebbiolo with pop of cranberry, raspberry, and tart strawberry. Great zip on the palate and long finish. H/T to @Guillermo Gonzalez for the recommendation.

If black strawberries were a thing that existed, this wine would smell like them. The fruit is somehow light and brooding at the same time. Strawberry, raspberry, black cherry, cranberry, rhubarb, and pomegranate fruit; balsamic, rose, violet, black pepper, black tea, clay pot, and tar notes. Structured but very well-integrated tannins. Sort of Nebbiolo-like in both texture and flavor. Lovely!

What an outstanding Greek red! Lots of sweet dried fruit. Much lighter than other Xinomavro wines I’ve tasted.

Greek wine, mature fruit,, simple but fresh looks like an excellent wine to accompany some cheese and baguette and possibly quaffing in a hot day.
