Tried again! Deep Ruby with aromas of dark red fruits, floral and herb spice notes. On the palate flavors of plum and blackberry and with nutty spice and cedar notes. Medium length, firm tannins, ok balance ending with oak and pepper spice. Ok, good now!

Today I have opened the 2018 The Pey Family Textbook Cabernet Sauvignon. From Saint Helena, CA Napa Valley. This is a blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Merlot. A nice surprise at this price point, well worth it.

On the nose there is black cherry, blackberry, plum sauce, vegetal notes, black currant, mint, spice, violets and earth.

On the palate I find black cherry, blackberry, black raspberry, black currant, green bell pepper, spice, mocha, pencil shavings and earth.

This wine is full bodied with a fresh vibrant mouthfeel medium + acidity and medium+ sandpaper tannins that leaves you with a long vegetal black fruit earthy finish. A beautiful wine from the Pey Family. Have a wonderful weekend and please stay safe and healthy as we all start looking forward to the holidays ahead. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Well structured and balanced wine; great density and silky tannins. Blackberry, black cherry, cedar and clove meet on the palette. Great find!

Aiming at a straight ahead Napa style Cab.
Darker fruits, some currants and blackberry. Hint of pip bitterness. Tannins are fresh and noticable.
'aiming at dinner party conversation, not shouting.'

Dark ruby in color with a reddish rim.

Full bodied, smooth and bold.

Dry and fruity on the palate with medium acidity.

Showing black fruits, chocolate notes, vanilla, tobacco, cedar, licorice, cola and mocha.

Nice finish with fine grained tannins.

This is a tasty Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. Fruit forward with a simple nose and mild complexity on the palate, with a nice soft mouthfeel.

Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up and shows some structure. Would benefit from another 3 to 5 years of bottle time.

Good price for a Napa Cabernet.

Aged for 16 months in French oak barrels.

Low alcohol for a Napa Cabernet, which is not something you find too often.

A blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Merlot.

13.3% alcohol by volume. Wow.

90 points.

$30.

Jammy fruit - oak chips - for the price would be a good BTG napa Cab
