Popped and poured; enjoyed over several hours. The 2011 Terre Nere Brunello di Montalcino Riserva pours a very pretty garnet color with a translucent core. Viscosity is medium with light staining of the tears. There appears to be some slight signs of sediment. On the nose, beautiful, lush, thicc red fruits: bruised strawberry, dessicated cherry, orangettes, leather, porchini, caffe mocha, and stony earth. On the palate, the structure is still very much intact: medium+ tannin, medium (+?) acid. The notes from the nose are confirmed. The finish is long and savory. The warmth of 2011 was managed really well and the 15% posted abv is completely held in check. Bravissimo! Drinking really well right now and will continue to do so through 2030.

Light and transparent. Fruity entry with lots of black fruits. Hints of tabaco and chocolate. Still a bit of tanine dryness. Italian freshness.

Terre Nere Brunello Di Montalcino DOCG 2013: Medium-bodied. High acidity. Smooth refined tannins. Cherry. Raspberry. Plum. Leather. Earth. Long tasty finish. For me, this was a beautifully crafted BdM wine, possessing all of the classic characteristics that make a Brunello what it is; well desired, loved by all & respecting the fruit. Fortunately for me, this was a 1.5L bottle, so there was plenty of liquid goodness to go around to all. Cheers🍷

Dark fruit and coffee. Full, rich mouthfeel. Earthy funk on the finish. Feeling the mothership connection on this one.

Enjoying Roma food in Milano. The wine was a bit too dry and young though tasty enough after an afternoon of Aperol while overlooking the Duomo. This pit stop in Milano may prove longer as the weather is about to turn poor, requiring us to skip Como. Grr. Though more wine and gelato and pizza and aperol is available here ... I guess we will survive ;)

Power, but in a way still subtile. Fruit(cherries, strawberry), coffee in an harmonieus combination with acids and a far hint of tannine
