Medium to dark garnet. In the nose, granite, dark cherries, raspberries. In the mouth, same dark bitter cherries. Medium acidity. Finish is medium to medium long. Tannins are nicely resolved.

Better than expected. Light bodied with strawberry elements. Almost like a Morgon. Solid for the price point on a restaurant menu, but not really my style.

Cherry red with light purple accents with plenty of cedar, blue fruits, and a smoky nature on the nose. I love second and even third bottles and many of them offer substantial value, relative to their more celebrated siblings. This one doesn’t quite live up to the prestige of Sassicaia. Lighter bodied, at times thin, made to drink now, eschewing complexity and depth. The brightest spot here is the rustic qualities on the palate with dried herbs, blackberry, and earth. Certainly not a bad daily drinker, just slightly unimpressive.
