4 people found it helpfulApr 16th, 2015Pronounced alcohol on the nose. On the palette: mid-season blackberries (not overly ripe), and leather. Smoke, spice, and white pepper also emerge after a few seconds in the mouth. High tannins and acid with a slight licorice finish. Worked well with tomato-based ragu—cleared the fat but stood out on its own in the finish. Needs to decant for a while before drinking (2hr). Serve at cellar temp, just a little below room temp. 13.5% ABV.

The tar comes on strong, but fades after stretching out in the glass. If you'd rather waste your money on cheap Chianti..please do. I'll stock up on this.

Jan 23rd, 2016Basic aglianico with some rough edges. Sulfur-y smoke, candle wax, and dark chocolate on the nose with rich black fruit and big tannin on the palate.. Settled down after a while in the glass, but definitely needs food.

Apr 26th, 2015The first hint of aroma is that of rubbing alcohol. Followed by a seductive earthy clay much to the likes of playdoh. After a swirl in the mouth there is a strong black cherry note with a melody of oak and leather.
