Jan 31st, 2022The 2019 Côtes de Tablas is medium dark in the glass, ruby red with a nice violet tinge. The nose delivers lots of fruit - strawberry, cherry, red currant - and delivers it in such a fresh manner. The fruit of Grenache, the power of Syrah, the structure of Mourvèdre and the wildness of Counoise work together splendidly. The flavors are fresh and bright, almost as if there had been no oak involved. It is almost surprising, considering the muscular grapes in the blend, that the wine has a light and elegant feel. The tannins are firm but not a bother, so pairing is easy without losing the sipping factor.

Jun 3rd, 2021Ruby-red. Pungent, smoke-tinged red berry preserve and floral aromas are energized by a mineral flourish and a spicy suggestion of white pepper. Juicy and broad on the palate, offering sweet cherry and raspberry flavors that convey an appealing blend of depth and energy. Closes smooth, spicy and subtly tannic, displaying even tannins, a touch of lavender and strong persistence. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, December 2020)

Dec 10th, 2020Great wine from the Tablas Creek lineup and in the low end of the price range. Vinous description below is spot on so won’t repeat here.

Dec 18th, 2019Black fruit, leather, earth/tobacco, and some nice spice. Good structure but it doesn’t linger.

May 19th, 2018At first smell I thought this wine was slightly over the hill, as there is a hint of oxydation, but in fact it evolves favourably. Never judge too quickly! After 10 minutes the nose reveals dried thyme, leather, dried fruits and licorice, not unlike a good Lebanese wine or an older Chateauneuf. Nice spiciness in the mouth also, with sweet dried prunes and licorice and good balancing acidity and a certain complexity, making this a very satisfying glass of wine, even if it's rather expensive at about 23 euro.2010 vintage, blend of 46% grenache, 39% syrah, 10% mourvèdre and 5% counoise. Alc. 14,5 % by vol.

Nov 29th, 2015This is what all wines should be duh. Way to easy to drink, can't taste the alcohol ( which you shouldn't be able to taste the alcohol anyway). Silky smooth Grenache 😎😋. Only reason I didn't rate it higher is bc I know in a year or more it will be even more brilliant😍✨!
