What a great wine. A brilliant version of this. Lemon oil, huge minerals, some green tea. So delicate and playful. Citrus. Citrus jelly. Really clear and mineral. Huge acid and drive on the palate. Amazing texture. Lime and rock flavors mixed with some killer herbals and bitters. Awesome structure and density but so lithe. Mosel like nimbleness and purity. Just a terrific terrific bottle. Really the biggest revelation of these recent 19 Riesling Tastings. This has just crazy and acidity and freshness. What a finish. Lime sweet tart such mineral drive on this.

@Lyle Fass is some kind of freak genius for finding this wine. Seriously if you judged a book by its cover, you would question the bottle shape for a German Riesling (or any Riesling). But you’ve just got to trust the Fass wines... this is amazing. So dense! So light and yet also mouth filling. The fruit comes in a second wave of delight. Such a beauty!

May 1st, 2020Love this wine. A different style than anything we bring in. Nose is packed with apricot, melon, some Sponti funk, white chocolate and a wild feral quality. Gorgeous and alluring aromas. Densely fruited and super pure. Terrific freshness, balance and terrific length. So well made and opulent but also chiseled and restrained. Long. Man this is long. Superbly complex and as it opens there is more finesse and texture. Brilliant stuff.

Wonderfully densely fruited Riesling. Not unctuous or over the top but almost northern rhonish in fruit density. Nose is apricot and mineral. Finish is delicious. Juicy. Just yummy fruit. A kiss of candied lemon.
Not a typical Riesling. But goes great with weightier food like chicken in cream sauce. So it has a place in a cellar. Makes sense threat this is weightier as it’s from Baden which is Germany’s southern most wine region.

Very powerful apricot nose. The wine is not convincing. Tastes more like Viognier than Riesling - honey’ed. May be some folks will like it but for me it is just an odd taste for Riesling. 😐 sorry.
