Reduced nose, sulphur, green apple. Defect. Sharp in the mouth with lemmon, high acid and almond bitter aftertaste

Quite a bit of acidity yet filled with perfumed flowers and sweet lemons on the palate. Quite tangy and mouth watering but not overwhelmingly so. Enjoyable and refreshing.

A surprising, joyful listan Blanco with a touch of Pedro ximinez. Somewhere between a Jura Chardonnay and a fino sherry. Gooseberries, sea foam, preserved lemon, acidic backbone.

super expressive. lots of sea breeze, lots of gooseberry, cuckoo finish. half way between jura chard and quality aligoté.

Dense swordfish, tomato relish, spinach, ricotta gnocchi.

Razor sharp steely. Sam brought it.

Another victory for Listán Blanco. (Also let’s hear it for Tenerife!) I guessed it was Chenin Blanc. (Wrong!, and happily so).

Young Palomino from Tenerife. I know these wines are meant to be aged, but I enjoyed this 2018 bottle. It did not have the oxidation noted by many reviewers, but instead was a tropical-flavored wine with notes of pineapple and other fruits, that after being open for at least 30 minutes had a finish of vanilla and cream. Quite complex and enjoyable, but more of a Summer wine than one appropriate for dinner. Great for picnics. I’ll need to try an aged bottle some day to understand this wine.
