Cabernet Franc

Clear, pretty ruby color with Violet, blueberry and mocha aromas. A bit too much overly-charred oak on the nose and palate. Soft and silky texture, moderate tannins and crisp acidity. More body than expected from a cool climate wine - this really shows the growing importance of Niagra

Rich and tasty, pleasing on a lot of levels, but not super distinctive for the varietal or the region.

Here we go, tonight I am trying a Canadian Cab Franc. I have heard there are good offerings in the Niagara area of Canada and I saw this yesterday in my store of choice. I thought it would be a good choice since I do like my Cabernet Franc but usually from the Loire. On the nose I am receiving raspberry, black currant, cassis, graphite and a bit of milk chocolate. On the palate I can detect notes of red fruit, red raspberry, and plum. There are herbal notes, black pepper, oak with medium + smooth tannins, and medium acidity. A very nice Cab Franc and easy to drink.

Vary happy to see #Niagara #Ontario wines in NYC, especially this @StratusWines bottling. Quite elegant.

Great wine

Bruised black fruit, cherries, dark chocolate-covered fruit.

A little tight nose with a hint of earth, Depp dark texture earth Carries through to the palate, a brooding wine.

Decent, too much tannins

The star of the show. The undisputed champ of Niagara. Concentration and complexity. Stratus only knows how to make delicious world-class wines. Not just good for Canada, everyone should taste these wines.
