Storm Wines
Duvarita Vineyard Pinot Noir

Another great vintage. More energized than the '13 and will be drinking better in year. Note of 'manure' from 3 separate tasters. Rotisserie chicken's best friend.

They just do it right. Very delicate with elegant concentration and youthful fruit. Candied cherry with wild brush and a kiss of cinnamon. Evolved beautifully throughout the evening.

Tasting great right now. Needs about an hour of air and even better at 2-3hours. Cherries, minerals, game almost blood sausage like, pepper, hint of baking spice. It’s light despite these flavors. Initially it had a manure funk that has completely drifted away. A lot of tart cherry and berry smashed onto a stone plate. It’s really unique. Hope I have more of this one somewhere in the cellar.

13.2%. Dark cherries and blackberry nose. Apparently picked from young vines at the time. Very juicy. Fruit yes but quite burgh like in style. Deep cherry 🍒 flavors. Hint oregano some whole cluster? Lacks depth. Seems very little if any oak was used. Storm has a brother in South Africa who makes wine under the same name. I like the winery but it is not 100% my style. More complex and even better the next day. Now orange peel, touch bitter. I wonder if this was a one off or if this vineyard is special. Will go back and buy more from new vintages! Rating up 2 points from 9.1.

Probably the best Pinot Maker in the Santa Inez Valley after Tyler. Quite Burgundian. Cherry, spice, hint crushed marble. Touch lime. Just 12.8%. Quite amazing to get this kind of depth and profile at this low % level.
