Dark cherry, leather, truffle, licorice and.. soy sauce..and coffee..and if you keep swirling you get more and it isn't that classic anymore

Majestic example of sangiovese that you can easily still put aside for a while, but absolutely enjoy now too

1 person found it helpfulJun 19th, 2021My guess on this is the rambunctiousness that is present is due to young vines...a touch, and I mean a hair, more alcohol is noticeable than I would expect from such a "perfect" vintage. It filled out with time as air smoothed things out raising it from an initial 88-89. The house style is indeed intact with a focus on purity of fruit and less on cosmetics.
