Marlborough Riesling

Without going into a tirade on TDN in young Rieslings, I’ll just start off by saying that this was decent and showed good typicity as an Australasian Riesling. Aromas of petrol, lime cordial, lemon, and musk. Salted limes, pepper, crisp acidity, medium weight, and a touch of bitter fruit peel/phenolics on the palate. It’s got nice energy, but the petrol kills it for me.

2018. clear, yellow leaning toward gold color. nose; sound. medium intensity. under ripe bosc pear. green apple, something green- green bean or snap pea? dry, light body, medium alc, balanced, short on flavor on finish but long on a mineral, stoney character. Good, quaffable.

A nice Riesling, a bit simple but it does the trick. Some nectarine and ginger on the nose, small white flowers as well. Offers up some lemons and a dash of spice, but the nose is more complex than the juice. Might be better with food? It’s good though.

steals the show!! dry, Mineral, ripe, white peach, apricot, hint of petrol. Lively, zippy, irresistible!

This is everything I hoped it would be

Ample citrus aroma, lemon, grapefruit, pear and clear petrol. Fresh! Dry. Mineral. Spy Valley Riesling Marlborough 22 @2980, Yang, 250308-250323

Really crisp and smooth until I paired with food. Might try again as a social wine.
