Big bright fruit on the nose. Lots of oak easily noted on the palate when you first open it. After decanting for 15 minutes, still very oaky. Hoping it will turn around with some more time.

Plum, cedar, and blackberry nose. Strong tannins carry the flavors nicely. Definite terroir influences on the palate; blackberry, cedar, black pepper, leather.

Fairly transparent ruby red, orange at the rim. Herbal nose. Medium-bodied, spicy, but dry, rustic greenish tannin kicks in at he end. Disappointing. 37,7 euro. 2012 vintage. Considering the quality of the basic 2013 Zin offering, I suppose this must have been an off-bottle.

Part of the Dry Creek AVA, deep purple red with aromas of sweet red fruit and spice. The sweet ripe berries carry forward to the palate along with currants and dried red fruits. The full body wine has good balance pointed acidity and long on the finish ending with earthy minerals.
