14’ Sea Smoke TEN.
Baked strawberries, allspice nose to it.
Cranberry, red current, dark cherry. Secondary notes of cinnamon, rose & lavender. Medium- bodied with striking acidity at first taste. Settles down quite nicely after a short decanting. Drinking in it’s prime now.

The 14s were just released in October and they are stunning. Strong notes of cherry, vanilla and baking spice with undertones of espresso and cola. Drinking great already after a brief decanting (30 mins).

Just arrived at the Restaurant and we'd have been better to have waited a few years.

Palate moving away from these wines. Still good for what it is meant to be.

To my surprise, the nose is fruitier and fresher, but less depth and complexity, than the Fort Ross Pinot. But makes no mistake, it’s still immensely enjoyable.
The palate is what really set its apart, warm and textured, nice balance of red and dark fruits. As it opens up, the palate gets richer, with every sip presenting a slightly different flavor mix: Mushroom, tea leaf, lavender, thyme, mint, hint of smoke meat. Round acidity provides firm spine. Elegant tannins.
Possibly my favorite Pinot.

Received as a gift and enjoyed the Pinot Noir, however there weren’t any interesting characteristics that stuck out as making this a unique wine or worth the price.

Give this a long decant. Tight upon opening and after I let a glass stay out for an entire evening it changed for the better. Shows the nice deep berry and savory flavors you would hope for from a Santa Barbara Pinot. Definitely full bodied but not sweet.
