Sipping Fine Wine

Focused on Schramsberg's top Chardonnay barrel and tank lots, and aged for seven years prior to release, J. Schram is the winery's signature Brut sparkling wine. Complex aromas of ripe fruits, sweet spice and biscuit notes. On the palate flavors of apple, pear and lemon zest with toasty tones in bright acidic frame. Lingering finish with a gentle smoky mineral character ending with yeasty tones. Pricey for CA bubbly. Tasting Sample.

This and the Roederer L'Ermitage are about as good as it gets for CA sparkling.

Baked apples, dark honey and sea air, with a lightly bitter finish. Tight and stony now, I'd leave this one in the cellar for a few years to blossom.
