This wine is to Barolo like a Pommard is to Gevrey-Chambertin: a lightfooted but elegant sibling.

Translucent crimson color with promising red fruit, licorice and a bit of leather aromas. On the palate it's light-bodied, elegant and well structured with well integrated dusty tannins and bright acidity. It shows sweet and sour cherry, red licorice with hints of raspberry, and leather with a mineral tinged lingering finish. Nice value at $24. 100% Nebbiolo from the vineyards of Teglio. It is fermented in stainless steel tanks for two weeks before spending 12 months in a large cask for ageing. Decanting highly recommend.

Nebbi-YoLo (I'm so, so sorry) Dry a/f + bright acids. Valetellina Neb is a good thing.

If you haven't tasted Valtellina Nebbiolo, add it to your wish list. Squeaky clean with polished tannins to facilitate early drinking. No taste of oak.
