Sonoma County Trousseau

Popped and poured; consumed over a 6 hour period. The 2021 Trousseau pours a pale, slightly hazy garnet color with a transparent core moving towards a watery rim. Medium- viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is intense with notes of fresh forrest strawberries, watermelon, cherries, violets, and crushed gravel. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium(-?) tannin and medium+ acid. Light bodied. Confirming the notes on the nose. Alcohol is medium and finish is long, saline and slightly peppery. This is a refreshing red wine that, as others have noted, almost appears more rosé than red. Don’t let the color fool you, this is loaded with fruit however there is a lightness on the palate that’s really fun. Drink now but this will drink well over the next handful of years with ease.
