Sep 23rd, 2020Perhaps my highest scoring, non-complex wine ever. Succulent comes to mind. Just pure, freaking delicious and utterly more-ish.

1 person found it helpfulJul 4th, 201513' Sandlands Carignane Mendocino Co. Color- Persian red/ Light purple core. Nose- If you were to sell a wine just based upon the smell of it. ( Violet, lavender)
Palate- Not getting much on the front of the palate. Mid/back palate- Tart raspberries, strawberry, ripped plum, dusted chocolate, very light earthiness, mineral taste ? , soft tannins on the finish . Lengthy finish. Well made & balanced wine. Easy to drink.
Edit- Decant it! This will spring to life. Would love to revisit this wine again..

My heart is still with the Mataro, but this is freaking delicious regardless!

Feb 28th, 2016Dark ruby color with appealing blackberry, red berry, cardamom, and crushed rock aromas. On the palate, it's medium-bodied with ample fruit, lively acidity, and well-integrated dusty tannins, and blackberry, black cherry, and raspberry with a pleasing bit of minerality, and a giving spicy finish. Gulpable, delicious yet showing some complexity. Fruit from Ukiah Cemetery vineyard - a head-trained and dry-farmed vineyard was planted in 1953.

Dec 16th, 2015Packs a lot of fruit into an acid driven, glou glou package. There's a slight viscousness that seems a little incongruous, but that's a quibble. Super enjoyable, wish I could buy a case rather than chase a two bottle allocation...
