Carignane from California with really interesting tanins to me. Fairly light but a nice gummy ness — 13 hours ago

@Ryan Vento : My first job after graduating from college was in San Antonio...I lived there just under a year and a half. Knew I wanted to get back to Fort Worth!

La Ciaude Minervois Carignane Blend 2013

This wine surely punched above its weight class. Big boy wine but a hell of a value — 18 days ago

Adobe Cellars

Private Selection Carignane 1976

Ruby in color with a wide reddish rim and medium intensity.

Great nose of blueberries, cherries, currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, herbs, spices, dark chocolates, wild flowers, coffee, light earth, light vegetables and pencil lead. Wonderful nose.

Medium bodied with medium plus acidity and nice legs.

Dry on the palate with blueberries, dried cherries, plums, currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, vegetables, earth, spices, black pepper, wet leaves and herbs.

Medium plus on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cranberries.

This is a very enjoyable Carignan from Mendocino County, California. This 43 year old is still drinking nicely. Still very tasty, but doesn't have many years in it.

Great nose, but not fully balanced any longer. Showing great complexity and a nice mouthfeel. Feels like an old Northern Italy red.

Needs an hour to open up properly and show some tannins and complexity. Died after 3 hours of airtime.

I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.

12% alcohol by volume.

89 points.

I’ve never seen so much sediment in one bottle. Does it qualify as natural wine? It’s so good. — a month ago
