Slow ox’d for about 2 hours. The wine is a bit opaque showing quite a brickening throughout. It is clearly in the tertiary flavors ground with plenty of leather, tobacco, dried cherry, anise, and earthy notes. The tannins have melted and are fully integrated. Great acidity - the wine is really balanced. I think this may still drink well for a couple of years.

Wow...16 year old Tuscan Sangiovese--- dark, inky mysterious match with pasta... amazing concentration, smokey lifted nose of black cherry, tobacco, and charcoal. Med to full body... rich, viscous, complex mouthfeel. Long, finish with plenty of soft tannin and vital acidity to balance the wine. More youthfull and food-friendly than expected. The wine exceeded expectations and I can still taste the wine 30 minutes after finishing.
