Hard to get a good read of this bottle, my first time trying the 2019 Saintayme of which I bought a few cases in various formats. Tried on three separate evenings. At this stage it’s a brooding, surprisingly austere wine - surprising both for the appellation and the estate itself. Could this be a wine that unfurls into something magical in years to come? Possibly. I’ll wait to find out.

TASTE: a little more one dimensional than expected, but still quite good — perhaps it is just “subtle” and “young.” Clearly “Wine” with a capital W. Earthy berries as the nose — the fruit became much fresher with air (1-2 hours). Should be much nicer in a few years. 92.
