This Sangiovese is pretty decent for the price point. A fair amount of berry notes on the nose. Dark cherries, cherry pits and skin, acid and astringency are detectable on the nose. The palate confirms the cherries but in a tart underripe way. Also getting strawberry and raspberry notes on the finish. Theres iron flavors and metallic things going on with the palate, not to mention barnyard and turned earth with some potting soil smells. For the 15ish bucks this is a complex Sangiovese.

Ruffino Aziano Chianti Classico '12. Red fruit bomb w/ hints caramel and violets. #lovely texture, velvety tannins. Easy drinking.

A good solid Chianti Classico, not a Riserva or a Gran Selezione but still good. Notes of berries on the nose and fruity in the mouth, tannins are there but not too strong. Paired well with chicken parmesan. I'd buy it again
