Diluted limestone, eucalyptus, balsamic, green onions, white pepper, cream tones. Very young and still unfriendly. High round acidity, well-structured mean body. Long, pronounced finish. Fairy tale! Too young!

A super example of a smaragd with the detail of a federspiel.

2006. I learned tonight that Rudi Pichler wines need age. I've always been underwhelmed until I tasted what age can do to these wines. Terrific balance!

Rocking my world this afternoon. Perfectly saline lemon and asian pear with a dose of chamomile.

Great gruner. More aromatic and floral than most I’ve had. Slight vegetal notes but more fruit and floral driven.

Still too young but was still plenty enjoyable. Rudi makes one of the more elegant and dense Gruner Veltliner lineups in the Wachau of the popular well known producers.

His wines demand age, depending on the vintage I would wait 4 to 7 years or more for the wines to be at their ultimate expression.

When the winemakers favorite wines outside of his home country are Champagne, Burgundy and Barolo/Barbaresco you know that you are on to something good!

Soft power and intricately detailed. Impeccably balanced while a bit coy. Still got miles.
