Powerhouse of a Chianti in terms of depth and savory elements. Mid-full yet not dense or modern. This is why Chianti is such a good wine.

Crowd pleaser: black cherry, dark fruit. Bigger on the palate than most CC's. Herbs and some tobacco. Inky.

I need to case up on this before it is gone. This has been my favorite Sangiovese for many years, as Brunello is a little oversized for our taste. The 2010 Rocca has all the dark cherry power that I need, but also great texture and fabulous, mouthwatering acidity. This is a long finishing superstar. It went very well with pork-chop, grilled radicchio and polenta!

Medium ruby , medium ruby garnet rim . Quite aromatic , cedar, red cherry , cut herbs , and a slight meaty , soy , balsamic touch . On the palate quite lean red fruits and some dark cherry , blackberry , cedar , liquorice with a herbal tinge . Gritty tannin , quite high acidity . Slightly short and lean on the finish . This is drinking at peak now , doesn’t have the structure or density to last so would recommend to drink over the next 3-5 years .

Still a Brunello in disguise. The last, and driest of my bottles.
Perfect with Marcella’s Bolognese.
Yep!

Brunello in disguise.
Mostly Sangiovese with as they say a small amount of Pugnitello.
Raised up in med toast barrique and tonneaux. I decanted 3 hrs.
N: Big, warm, Black cherry and Liquorice nose. You can sense the wood but it’s not intrusive. Red flowers/ Geraniums, whiff of vanilla.
P:Cherry bomb, souis bois, dirt,( in the best way) charcoal, pencil lead, nice tannic grip, beautiful acid balance. More black/red flowers. Long finish.
Not as “bright “ as many Chianti, rides the “ darkness” of Brunello, weight in between.

I decanted this for an hour.
N: Mulberries, Dense forest, Crushed blueberries.
P: Toe-Bacco! This is a big boy. It’s dense but the acidity is bright, rides the line between trad. & modern.
Sangiovese with small amount of Pugnitello done in barriques and tonneaux, med toast Allier.
Cherries are sneaky, dark and emerge w time out. From Gaiole in Chianti.

VG Chianti. Rounder and darker than I usually drink. A universal hit.
