Dark chocolate and black cherry. Mix it together and what do you get? Yeah I’m not sure why my Chianti tastes like Black Forest cake either, but I’m kinda digging it.

Sipping Fine Wine

Ruby with aromas of dried berry fruits with sweet spices. On the palate flavors of ripe plum & sweet berries with cacao, spice and licorice flavors. Fine soft tannins, lingering, complex rich savory finish ending with good structure.

Nice solid Chianti. I think it was $35 on sale for $25 or something like that. Held up to curry.

Dark & rich with dark cherry & blackberry, cocoa beans & dark chocolate, a hint of exotic spice and dark wood in the background. Nice play of savoury & sweet on the palate - chewy, chocolatey tannins, fresh bright acidity, layers of dark fruit. Finishes off with a savoury note and, unfortunately, the 14,5% alc sticking out.
Reminds me more of the much warmer Morellinos or Maremma Sangioveses, and I do miss the freshness and lighter footing of more typical C. Classicos.

Great. Sangiovese at its best. If you like wines with gallo nero sign - you won't be dissapointed.
